I want to post a few items from my assigned paper pack, Dakota, and some of the fun products I got a first peek at- like our burlap ribbon, stamp sets and (of course) the Artiste Cricut cartridge! This is one of the most exciting parts of teaching at Extravaganza-- the sneak peek... and the opportunity to be the first to create with the products! Here are some cards I created for my display boards...
Embossed paisley inked card with a layered burlap spine.
This is a CD holder created with Artiste. Inside is a CD with photos and an insert with a gift card.
The insert with pockets for the CD holder. Shapes were cut with Artiste. The Lone Star patch on the front is from the Embellishments that coordinate with Dakota.
I love how this card turned out. It is the shape of a ticket on the inside and is a pocket for the outside.
Another favorite of mine- I love how it turned out! The pocket is a stamp and is cut with Artiste.
I'll share a few more with you in a few days. Wish me luck- I submitted an application to teach again in 2013. I will also share my submission projects which include a camera album and an altered rolodex!
Last Summer I was honored to teach at the most popular event at the
annual Close To My Heart convention in Dallas, TX. I haven't had a
chance to share much and realize it has now almost been a year since
then!
One of my Artiste keys I was assigned during Extravaganza 2012 was the movie night key. Our family loves movies and popcorn! The key on the cartridge has a great popcorn container. The best thing about the Artiste cartridge is that once you select your size for your 3D item, the coordinating label or other coordinating item can be cut at the same size and be proportionate. It makes it really easy and takes a lot of the guesswork out of cutting!
Movie Night Popcorn Container
The popcorn container can be used for many things. In this case, a birthday gift for Dad.
Here's a close up of the tag. I used the coordinating stamp set and dimensional elements chipboard to create the barn red award look to the tag.
Here's a close up of the Birthday tag tied to the top of the candy.
In my display for Extravaganza I had a movie night basket for Dad for his birthday.
I decorated the actual DVD case with Cricut Artiste cut and stamped tags.
I think this would make the perfect invitation for a Movie Night birthday party.
I'll be back in a few days to show you more Dakota Extravaganza art!
Only a few more days to get the awesome Whoo's Your Valentine kit from Close to My Heart!! You don't want to miss this one!
Here's a quick video showing how quick and easy this kit is. Take a look...
You can purchase the kit here on my website for only $10 when you purchase just $35 in other products!
I added a few items to my kit. I used ink in the colors of Chocolate, Hollyhock and White Daisy. I used the Metallic Ink pen in Silver to accent the stamped images and tie into the sparkly silver glitter paper that comes with the kit. I found the silver Shimmer Trim (and black- available on Feb. 1 in the new idea book) and the Rosette Ribbon added so much to the project as well as a bit of sliver Glitz Glitter Gel. I glued 3 of the boxes together for a super treat. This was a really fun kit and went together really fast. So much fun and great for kids of any age to help with! Don't miss out- place your order by January 31st!
Time is getting short now! Have you gotten your holiday cards out the door yet? I made this quick card by layering together a 6x12" piece of Kaiser Craft paper and several coordinating papers. I finished it off by using several of the embellishments that coordinate with the paper line and by using the words on the opposite sides of the bar code strip on the papers. These can be a wealth of embellishments for cards, smaller projects and layouts. Be sure and take a peek at them when you cut them off before throwing them away. Many manufacturers are starting to print on the backside which literally gives you 'no scrap' scrapbook papers.
So pick up a few Kaiser Craft papers and a pack of embellishments and start layering for quick cards!
